Buying Domain Name - Personal Or Business | Web Affiliate Marketing

domain nameThere are several ways you can go about buying domain name for your online business or for your personal online blog. If you have a personal blog you can just use the free services at WordPress or Blogger and use your own name. If you are starting an online business, though, that is not the method you should use.

When you buy a domain name you actually own a small piece of internet ?real estate?. As long as you don?t break any laws you can do whatever you want with that domain.

If you rely on the free sites you will be at their mercy. That may not seem like a big deal right now but if you build up a very profitable online business and Google (who owns Blogger.com) decides that they don?t like something you are doing, they can shut your site down with no warning.

Think of what it would feel like to go to bed one night with a very successful online business only to wake up the next morning to find that your website is gone! If you think I?m just being paranoid you should ask around in the forums online and see if that has happened to anyone.

Since it only costs around $10 to buy a domain name, it?s just not worth the risk.

The next consideration for buying domain name is what should your name be? The best way to answer that is to do keyword research and compile a list of keywords associated with your niche that get high monthly searches.

With your keyword list in hand head off to some online domain name registrars like GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com (you can do a search and find many other domain registrars if you want to, there are a lot of them). Once there, you simply go down your keyword list until you find a domain name that is available.

So, let?s say you have a keyword that is ?make money online?. You would go to a domain registrar, type in the phrase ?make money online? choose your extension (I personally think it?s ok to use either a .com or a .net) and see if that domain is available. If it is you just have to check out, and it?s yours.

If you want to buy a domain name that has already been purchased by someone you can go to domain auction sites and try to buy it there. You will usually pay more since the domain name has actually been online in most cases and will already be getting traffic.

But, since it?s already getting traffic this may be a great way to jump start your business, so it?s not all bad. If you can afford it.

Buying domain name for your online business really isn?t difficult or expensive. To get the biggest bang out of your domain name just follow these simple tips. When you use an actual keyword for your domain name you will get a lot of free traffic and that is always a nice thing.

Woman begged 911 for help before her slaying

In February, the 42-year-old Deltona, Fla., woman had filed domestic battery charges against her estranged husband.

Dwayne White was going to kill her the next time he saw her, she told investigators back in February, showing them her neck, red and swollen from White allegedly trying to strangle her.

"I'm as good as dead," Rucker had told sheriff's investigators at the time, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

It wasn't the first time deputies had been called to Rucker's Deltona home for domestic abuse incidents, Volusia County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Gary Davidson told msnbc.com.

After pressing felony charges over the February incident, Rucker resumed her life as a surgical technician and a mother of four.

On Monday morning, she was discovered stabbed to death in a restaurant parking lot, and her actions before her death have left officials mystified.

'How long have I been talking to you?'
Hours before authorities discovered her body, Rucker had called 911 from her work cell phone. The call disconnected twice; in one instance, dispatchers heard Rucker screaming in the background but the call hung up before she could say anything, Davidson told msnbc.com. When dispatchers called back, they got her voicemail.

"At that point, we have no idea where she is or who is calling us," Davidson said of the brief 911 calls from Rucker's cell phone, which couldn't be tracked to a specific location.

Rucker then called again from her home phone, and told the dispatcher White had showed up at her house, shoved her to the ground, and tried to hit her with a Heineken bottle. White had fled by the time she placed the call.

"He just came, knocked me down, threw the beer on me, and took my phone because I called the police," Rucker told the dispatcher. "He's not supposed to be here. He just got out of jail for doing this to me."

Rucker was on-call for work that night.

"I need my phone. You just don't understand. I work at the hospital," Rucker said.

At one point during her 911 call, Rucker interrupted. "How long have I been talking to you? I could be dead," she said, according to WKMG in Orlando.

Help was on the way
What Rucker didn't know at that point was officials had already traced her address and had sent a deputy to her neighborhood. The deputy was blocks away, searching for signs of White or his car.

"The first priority is to search for the suspect and his vehicle and make sure he's not still in the neighborhood, lurking about," Davidson told msnbc.com. Rucker was "understandably frustrated" that a deputy wasn't at her house yet, Davidson said, but she wasn't aware that deputies had already sprung into action, and were already on the case.

"I'm going to go find him myself," an exasperated Rucker then said on the 911 call, according to WFTV.com.

"No, no. You don't need to go after him," the dispatcher responded.

Volusia deputies then arrived at her home and wrote up a report.

"Then they searched for the suspect and his vehicle, and continued to look for him until the victim later turned up dead," Davidson said.

That was four hours later, around 5:30 a.m. Monday, at a Miami Subs parking lot in Longwood, Fla. Rucker had stab wounds to her neck and face.

"There were many of them, so it was a very violent death with a sharp-edged weapon like a knife," Seminole sheriff's Lt. James Clark told Daytona's News-Journal.

Officials are baffled as to how Rucker got to Longwood, which is in Seminole, the next county over. Seminole deputies ? who had no reason to be aware of Rucker's 911 calls with Volusia County ? found Rucker's body, clad in pajamas, after a suspicious-person call came in from Longwood.

"I can't speak to why she left her house and met up with the husband," Davidson said. "Why did she leave her house? Did she knowingly put herself in harm's way? I think these are questions that need to be asked."

Investigators believe Rucker was in Seminole County and ran into White there, according to the News-Journal. Clark said White likely then took her to the sub shop parking lot and carried out the homicide there. They don't know what Rucker's reasons for going to Seminole County were.

After Rucker's body was found, Seminole County deputies started their investigation.

"Initially, we were trying to develop information on a possible suspect," Kim Cannaday, Seminole County public information specialist, told msnbc.com. "Then we were made aware of the incident that occurred in Volusia County just hours before the homicide occurred. That's when White became our primary suspect."

White was later found at a girlfriend's house. Investigators charged him with first-degree murder and jailed him at Volusia County Branch Jail with no option for bail. He is being held in Volusia on domestic battery charges, but will also be charged with murder in Seminole County, Cannaday told msnbc.com.

You can hear audio of the victim's 911 calls on CFNews13.com.

Dear Prudence: My father-in-law might be a pedophile.

Got a burning question for Prudie? She'll be online at Washingtonpost.com to chat with readers on a special day next week due to the Labor Day holiday: Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. Submit your questions and comments here before or during the live discussion.

Dear Prudence,
I'm a mother of two attending graduate school and constantly in need of quiet time to study. My husband is a great help, but with two toddlers he's got his hands full. His father often asks to take our daughter to help "lighten the load" but doesn't ask to take our son, as well. I don't like my father-in-law because of comments he's made about women in general and me in particular. He has also served time for drug-related offenses earlier in his life. But I don't want my feelings to taint my children's view of their grandfather. He's recently converted to a neo-Buddhist religion in which he "lives in the now" and tries to get everyone around him to be "enlightened" and forgiving about things that happened in the past. I keep getting this strange notion that something is inherently evil about this man, though he's tried hard to convince everyone that he's a new person. Do you think that people can really change in such a significant way that it'd be safe to let him spend time with my kids? Or should I trust my instincts and allow only supervised visits or no contact? My husband doesn't like his father but humors him so that he doesn't "have to deal with him."

?Conflicted Mother

Dear Conflicted,
Sure, people can change. Perhaps your father-in-law has gone from being a drug-dealing felon to a Buddhist pederast. One clue that you're dealing with someone with big problems who needs to change but hasn't actually changed is how much effort he puts into convincing everyone he has changed and suggesting "the past" is a construct that must be transcended. There's something ominous in the way your father-in-law wants to "lighten your load" by taking his toddler granddaughter, but not his grandson. You've done a good job of making me shudder at the implication of what he may have in mind when he relieves you of your little girl. It's perfectly possible he's not sexually attracted to toddlers; it's also possible he's trying to lay down a protocol of frequent sleepovers by his granddaughter so he doesn't arouse suspicion when she gets to an age he finds more desirable. I'm indulging in these thoughts because you say convincingly that he gives off a vibe of being "inherently evil." You must follow your gut and not allow him to be alone with the children. It's true that gut instincts can be wrong. Maybe all your father-in-law wants to do is teach your daughter how to bake brownies. (In that case, why can't your son go along?) If those are his intentions, then your daughter will have missed some chocolaty treats and good times with grandpa. But if your instincts are right, you will be saving your daughter from possibly being scarred for life.

Dear Prudence: I'm Dating a Chimney!

Dear Prudie,
My boyfriend used my laptop one afternoon, and the browser stored a few of his passwords. The next time I accessed the Internet, I was able to log in to his email and Facebook accounts. I snooped around and found messages from the last few months in which he had contacted past girlfriends or women he appears to have dated. He got in touch with an ex who is overseas, apologizing for the way things ended and discussing racy videos of them together. He asked her to visit. He also asked a number of local women if they would like to go hiking, to the movies, or to dinner. Most of them responded, "Please don't contact me again." I don't know what to do. We've been together for two years and I could see myself marrying him. I trust him completely and have never had reason to be suspicious. If I admit to snooping, he will be hurt and offended. I've had to be apart from him for the last three months, and he's assured me he hasn't felt lonely or neglected. Should I let what I've discovered slide, or am I setting myself up to be hurt?

?Curiosity Killed the Cat

Dear Cat,
I suppose it could be a comfort to conclude that your boyfriend is probably not actually cheating on you because he's such a creep that the other women he pursues beg him to get lost. Of course he hasn't felt lonely while you've been away, because he's been so busy seeking female company. You say you trust him completely, yet something prompted you to run a little fidelity check, and you hit the lothario jackpot. It's hard to realize the person you've been with for a long time, and whom you thought you had a future with, is a deceitful skirt-chaser. Please stop worrying that he's going to be hurt and offended. Acknowledge to him that you snooped?then say the ethics of your actions are for another discussion. What you two need to talk about now is the fact that he appears to be putting all his time into trying to be unfaithful to you. Unless he can make a convincing case that yet someone else got access to his account and created a fake persona modeled on Dominique Strauss-Kahn, there's no other conclusion you can draw. Given your discoveries, you've got to recognize your trust in him is broken. Ultimately, though, it sounds as if you're going to have to join that burgeoning group of women who tell your boyfriend, "Get out and stay out of my life."

?Prudie

Dear Prudence,
I'm about to travel to my best friend's wedding. It's going to be a small ceremony with about 20 guests, and I will be the maid of honor. The bride's mother, "Amy," passed away a year and a half ago. Amy always treated me like her daughter, and I feel as though I should acknowledge her during my toast, particularly since Amy's wishes are the only reason my dear friend is having a "real" wedding and not eloping. At the same time, I don't want to cast a pall over the day or make the bride's father (and his new girlfriend!) feel uncomfortable. Is there any way I can tactfully give Amy her due during my toast, or should I avoid the subject entirely?

10 Great Ways to Cause an Elder Law Train Wreck | Mason Law, PC

As an elder law and special needs attorney I get a track-side seat for a pile of planning train wrecks: Here are the best ones . . .

Elder Law Train Wreck # 1This is a column for the contrarians among us who will insist, against mounds of advice, on creating maximum legal havoc. Here are ten great ways to insure a successful train wreck!

Great Idea One: Do not have a will. Let state law determine how assets will be divided (they won?t all go to a spouse if there are any children). Without a will many valuable planning opportunities are missed, thus insuring maximum havoc.

Great Idea Two: Do not have an effective power of attorney. Without a power of attorney, a guardianship may be the only option, which will be expensive and subject the guardian to court supervision and bonding.

Great Idea Three: Sign over all property to the kids if bad results are the goal. Mom may believe she is protecting her property, but she is subjecting the property to the liabilities and risks of the kids (divorce, anyone?), not to mention that some of the kids may be thinking of moving to Rio. Giving the property to the kids can also insure they pay maximum capital gains taxes when they sell the property. Certain types of trusts are a much better alternative, but not as much fun if creating maximum damage is the goal!

Great Idea Four: Skip the health care advance directives. Let everyone argue among themselves to decide who gets to make health care decisions.

Great Idea Five: Do not do any long term care planning. Buying long term care insurance is way too responsible. Also, it is better to wait until there is a crisis (Dad has gone into the nursing home) because at that time there are fewer options and any course of action will likely be more expensive.

Great Idea Six: If there is a disabled child, duck parental responsibilities and avoid taking advantage of the many planning opportunities Elder Law Train Wreck #2available for a special needs child. Disinherit the child and leave everything to the siblings. Maybe ?they?ll do the right thing.?

Great Idea Seven: Carry inadequate insurance. This is a real winner! Do not carry a good Medicare supplemental policy so that there will be maximum exposure to whatever Medicare does not cover (which is plenty).

Great Idea Eight: Do not do any planning after a ?late? second marriage, especially if there are children from the previous marriages. In this manner a perfect storm of battling families can be hoped for. Also, treasured family assets can be used to pay for the nursing home expenses of old Whatsisname instead of going to the kids.

Great Idea Nine: Do not, under any circumstances, update an old estate plan. Laws may change, but the dedicated Train Wrecker knows that he need never change!

Elder Law Train Wreck #3Great Idea Ten: Never, ever seek good professional advice. With good professional assistance things may go too smoothly. If you absolutely must have some help, limit expenses to less than $100 and buy something online. Or better yet, seek the advice of a neighbor.

Bonus: Do not do anything.

Someone told me not to write this because it would be bad for business (because guess who gets to clean up the wreck?).? ?Nope,? I said, ?people will do it anyway!?
